WHAT ATHLETES WILL LEARN

Our sessions teach the essential skills athletes need to play volleyball safely, confidently, and successfully. Instruction is adjusted to each athlete’s age and experience level, so beginners can learn at a comfortable pace while experienced players continue to improve.

PASSING AND BALL CONTROL
Athletes learn how to use their arms and body position to direct the ball accurately to a teammate. This is often the first contact after the opposing team sends the ball over the net.

SERVING
Athletes learn how to begin each play by serving the ball over the net with proper technique, control, and increasing consistency.

SETTING
Athletes learn how to use their hands to position the ball for a teammate to attack. Training focuses on hand placement, footwork, accuracy, and decision-making.

ATTACKING
Athletes develop the footwork, timing, arm movement, and body control needed to send the ball over the net effectively. Beginners start with the basic movement before progressing to jumping and hitting.

DEFENSE
Athletes learn how to react to an opponent’s attack, move into the correct position, and keep the ball from touching the floor.

MOVEMENT AND COURT POSITIONING
Athletes learn where to stand, how to move efficiently, and how players work together during a rally.

COMMUNICATION AND GAME UNDERSTANDING
Athletes learn volleyball terminology, basic rules, court rotations, and how to communicate with teammates during play.

CONFIDENCE AND TEAMWORK
Through encouragement, repetition, and age-appropriate challenges, athletes become more comfortable making decisions, learning from mistakes, and contributing as part of a team.
